Uninstall moves an application and optionally all related files to the Trash.  

To start, click the Uninstall… button on the main Yank window.   Next, select the application you want to uninstall.  In this example, we want to uninstall the application Canvas.

 















If you have the “Mac OS Easy Open” Control Panel installed, you will next see the window on the lower left.  Otherwise you will see the window on the lower right.  If you don’t have the “Mac OS Easy Open” Control Panel, you might be able to download a copy from <http://swupdates.info.apple.com/usalpha.html>. 

 



















After selecting the application and files, Yank searches all volumes for files that were created by the application (have the same creator type or signature), and moves them to the Trash.  If you have “Ask before moving an item to the Trash” checked, Yank will ask you before moving any file to the Trash.  This is the recommended setting.

After all volumes are searched, Yank also searchs the system folder for related system extensions or control panels.
 











 
When using the Uninstall feature, keep these things in mind:

 After Yank moves any files to the Trash, you can safely put them back where they came from with the Finder's "Put Away" command.  Here's how:
1) Click on the files in the Trash that you want returned.
2) Select "Put Away" from the Finder’s File menu (or type Command-Y).
Note: this may not work after you restart your Mac.

 Yank only moves files to the Trash, not folders.  

 It's recommended to have all volumes mounted before you use Yank.

 You cannot uninstall from a read-only volume, such as a CD-ROM.
